The protesters stirred signs that denounce Trump; Billionaire Elon Musk, the leader of the new Trump government efficiency department; and the 2025 project, a right -wing play book for the American government and society.

Outside the State Capitol in Lansing, Michigan, a multitude of about 500 people gathered in frozen temperatures. They denounced everything from Trump’s plans for Gaza to the reversal of rights for transgender neighbors and recent efforts to deport people who are in the United States illegally.
Catie Miglietti, from the Ann Arbor area, said Musk’s access to the data of the Treasury department was especially worrying for her. He painted a sign that represents Musk Titinger Trump of his arm spit, evoking Musk’s straight arm gesture during a January speech that some have interpreted as Nazi greeting.
“If we do not stop it and make Congress do something, it is an attack on democracy,” he said.
Kelsey Brianne, a key organizer of the Michigan Rally, learned about the protest movement on Sunday night and has been coordinating speakers and security protocols.
“I want to look back this time and say that I did something and that I not only sat,” Brianne said on the eve of the protests.

Trump has signed a series of executive orders in the first two weeks of his new term in everything from commerce and immigration to climate change. As the Democrats begin to raise their voice in opposition to Trump’s agenda, the protests have also begun.
