President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Pakistan on Aug 2: Iranian official – World

The political advisor of Iranian President said Wednesday that Dr. Masoud Peeshkian should visit Pakistan on August 2 (Saturday) for a two -day trip, Iran’s, Iran’s, Iran’s IRNA The news agency reported.

Fishshkian will be the second Iranian president to visit Pakistan in so many years. The visit was initially planned for the last week of July.

In April 2024, Ebrahim Raisi made an official three -day visit to Pakistan. During the trip, which took place a month before Raisi’s death in a helicopter accident, the foreign dignitary also visited Lahore and Karachi.

In a publication about X, the political advisor of Iranian President Mehdi Sanai said Dr. Pezeshkian would travel to Pakistan on Saturday for the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He said that official meetings and discussions with “cultural and commercial elites” were on the agenda.

“The relations between the two countries cover political, economic, religious and cultural dimensions, and the objectives of the trip include the development of provincial and border cooperation and the increase in commercial exchanges of the current $ 3 billion.”

The viceprimer Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, said previously that President Pezeshkian “soon” would make an official visit to Islamabad, IRNA reported.

Speaking in an interview outside his visit to New York, FM had said that Pezeshkian was scheduled to visit Pakistan and expressed the hope that the trip would take place in early August.

“Pakistan supports diplomacy and a wise approach in the region and welcomes all efforts towards decalcalación and dialogue with Iran,” he said.

He said he was in close contact with Iraní Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, added that Pakistan could not remain silent with respect to recent events, including the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Giving had condemned the aggression of the Israeli regime against Iran and the United States attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities. “Diplomacy and dialogue are the only way to get out of the current situation, and Pakistan will continue to support both parties,” he added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz visited Iran on May 27 as part of his regional tour of friendly countries aimed at expressing his gratitude for his support during the conflict with India. He met Iranian leaders, including President Pezeshkian, to strengthen ties and deepen regional cooperation.

I had previously visited Iran in May 2024 to attend the commemorative ceremony of former President Raisi and met with the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
