Pope Francis died Monday at the age of 88, one day after making a highly anticipated appearance at Saint Peter’s Square on Easter Sunday, the Vatican said in a statement.
“This morning at 7:35 am (10:35 PKT) Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the father’s house,” Cardinal Kevin Farrell said in the statement published by the Vatican on his Telegram channel.
