Police seek tips to locate escaped inmate in Prince Albert


Police are seeking the public’s help in locating an inmate who escaped from the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert.

Glen Fredrick Richard Halkett, 29, was discovered missing during the routine 9:30 p.m. count Tuesday night, according to Correctional Service Canada (CSC).

The inmate is described as five feet eight inches tall, weighs 168 pounds, has a light complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He has a tattoo on his neck and under his left eye.

The CSC says an arrest warrant was issued for the inmate after he contacted Prince Albert RCMP.

According to the CSC, Halkett is currently serving a sentence of two years, nine months and three days for a variety of offences, including burglary, possession of stolen property and motor vehicle theft.

Anyone with information about Halkett’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.

CSC says it will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.
