The police are looking for the man who shot a driver accused of plowing his vehicle to a multitude outside an East Hollywood club in Los Angeles at dawn on Saturday.
Fernando Ramírez, 29, was accused of assault with a mortal weapon, the force that will probably produce a great body injury, after supposedly “intentionally” took his car to a multitude of pedestrians gathered outside a place in North Vermont Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard around 2 on Saturday morning, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
At least 37 people were injured since some were run over by the car and others briefly trapped under it, authorities said. The lesions varied from minor pain to serious fractures and lacerations.
Ramírez had been fighting at the club and was expelled from the place, two LAPD sources said to KNBC. He allegedly returned to the club and resumed the fight. After he was expelled for security, he climbed into his car and led to the crowd, the sources said.
After driving the car to the crowd, the passersby took Ramírez from the vehicle and assaulted. During the test, a man shot Ramírez in the lower back and then fled.
Police have published photos of that suspicion of shooting and is asking for the help of the public to identify them.
The suspect of shots is described as a male Hispanic between 5’6 and 5’7 high, with a weight of between 150 and 170 pounds, seen for the last time with a blue Dodgers jacket, a light blue shirt with the number “5” and the blue jeans. He also has meters in both ears and a knob.
After he was beaten and shot, Ramírez was hospitalized and led him to surgery. It was last described as in stable conditions.
Ramírez has an extensive criminal history and was on probation at the time of Saturday’s accident, Knbc reported.
Ramírez was previously convicted of the serious crime battery and was sentenced in January 2020 for attacking a man outside a Beach Whole Foods lagoon in June 2019, confirmed Lapd captain Ben Fernandes.
I was on probation at the time of the accident on Saturday, but it is not clear if it is in relation to the 2019 incident or another case.
Ramírez also has a pending DUI case, according to police records.
The Orange County District Prosecutor of California confirmed that Ramírez had an extensive criminal record that dates back to 2014, including a serious crime position per assault with a mortal weapon that uses a force that probably produces a greater bodily injury, the same position he faces in Saturday’s accident.
