The main suspect involved in the kidnapping of a three -year -old girl in Karachi was arrested while the victim was recovered, police said Friday.
According to a first information report (FIR) presented by the girl’s father, seen by Dawn.comThe incident occurred on July 23.
The girl went to a store near her house and disappeared around 9 pm, said the FIR, and added that the family tried to look for her, but could not find her.
A case was recorded at the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station under section 364-A (kidnapping or kidnapping of a person under fourteen) of the Pakistan Criminal Code (PPC).
“The police took quick and effective measures by not only recovering the girl safely, but also arrested the main suspect involved in the kidnapping,” said a statement from the spokesman for the Central Police Superintendent (SSP) Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi.
“The police team, led by the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri Sarfaraz station officer, carried out a successful operation in 24 hours,” he added.
The statement cited police sources, saying that the operation was completed in a “confidential and professional way” to avoid damaging the victim.
“During the interrogation, the suspect revealed that his brother is in the jail under the custody of the Manghopir Police and kidnapped the girl to obtain rescue money for her bond,” said the spokesman, adding that the suspect belonged to the girl’s family.
Additional investigation was conducted to dig up the facts, said the statement.
