Lakki Marwat: A police officer was injured in a firearms attack in the Dhoda Marwat area on Sunday night.
Police said agent Masood Khan suffered gunshot wounds when two masked men opened fire. They said the injured were transferred to the Government City Hospital.
Masood, an agent of the border reserve police, and deployed in Miramshah (North Waziristan), told the police that he was in his guest room along with other cousins when two masked men entered a motorcycle and sprayed him with bullets.
“Although I was injured in the attack, I retaliates with my rifle and forced the assailants to flee their motorcycle behind,” he said.
He said he had no enmity with anyone and was attacked by terrorists affiliated with TTP prohibited for being used in the police department.
The police have registered a case and began an investigation.
Meanwhile, two people, including a proclaimed criminal, were killed when the rivals ambushed them on a dirt track in the torque area of Kurrum on Sunday.
Police identified the deceased as Hafiz Mohammad Ghulam, 42, and Arab Khan, 25, and said both were workers and would work in Khushab.
Nawab Khan, Arab Khan uncle, told police that his nephew and Mohammad Ghulam were attacked while they came to his people of Abbasa Khattak from Khushab on a motorcycle.
He identified the attackers as Karimullah and Osama, saying that their nephew and the murderers had an enmity of murder. Police said Hafiz Ghulam was a proclaimed criminal and that Khushab’s police were looking for him in several cases.
Separately, a child’s body was found in the Baistkhel area here.
Police identified the deceased as Abdullah, 22, a resident of Kotka Dalakki Haramatala.
In a separate shooting incident, a child lost his life and his friend was injured in the city of Serai Naurang.
Police said Tayyab Khan, 18 and his friend Irfan, 22, were present at the bazaar near the parade field when Fawad arrived there and opened fire with his gun. They said that both were injured in the attack and rushed to a hospital where Irfan succumbed to the injuries.
Police arrested the alleged murderer.
