A first information report (FIR) was registered by the Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bajaur area against unidentified attackers involved in the murder of the leader of the National Party Awami (ANP), Maulana Khan Zeb, emerged on Friday.
The ANP leader was shot dead on Thursday by assailants not identified in the KP Bajaur district, according to the police.
Bajaur District Police officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq said Dawn.com That the politician was shot dead in Shindai Mor as he campaigned for the Peace Parade of July 13, adding that a policeman was also killed and three other people were injured in the attack.
According to a copy of the FIR, dated July 10 and seen by Dawn.com -The unidentified attackers were hired under sections 302 (murder), 324 (murder attempt) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of RS50) of the Pakistan Criminal Code and Section 7 (terrorism) of the Terrorism Law, 1997.
The FIR states that Khan Zeb returned home to campaign for the peace parade of July 13 when his vehicle was attacked by unidentified gunmen, which resulted in his death and that of a police officer.
Meanwhile, Bajaur DPO confirmed new updates in research to Dawn.comaccording to which the geographical of two locations is underway and that forensic evidence was collected from the crime scene.
“According to eyewitnesses, five suspects traveling in two motorcycles shot at the vehicle,” said Dpo Rafiq, citing a police report. “Maulana Khan Zeb was the goal of the attack.
“Two locations are being recovered and 35 bullet caps of the crime scene were recovered,” Rafiq said, added that the initial complaint was registered by the station station officer at the Khar Police Station.
The murder was convicted by politicians in KP and the Pakistan Human Rights Commission. The ANP itself declared three days of mourning and suspended political activities.
