Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the relevant authorities to present a policy framework at the end of this month for the provision of easy loans for farmers dedicated to agricultural activities to medium and small scale.

By chairing a review meeting on agricultural development and agriculture planning today, Prime Minister Shehbaz ordered authorities to “prepare and present a comprehensive plan at the end of this month to provide farmers with easy loans and introduce a system in the agricultural sector aligned with modern requirements.”
“Priority must be given when providing modern agricultural facilities to farmers who have less than 12 acres of land,” said Prime Minister.

The prime minister also pointed out that the government was accelerating the reform process to provide farmers with modern agricultural equipment, quality seeds, artificial intelligence, better water use, small industries in the farm and other facilities.
Steps also include reforms to provide farmers with the facilities and training necessary to increase exports through agricultural products, he added.
On the occasion, detailed information was given on the ongoing agricultural reforms, the performance of the Limited Agricultural Development Bank and the loans granted to farmers.
Earlier this month, PM had presented a scheme to offer soft agricultural loans to farmers under the private public association model.
In March, the prime minister had promised to revitalize the agricultural sector of the country, achieve food self -sufficiency and boost agricultural exports, saying that in the coming years, an agricultural revolution can be taken to Pakistan if the federal government, in collaboration with the provinces, provides contributions to reasonable farmers to farmers.
