PM Shehbaz addresses trilateral summit in Azerbaijan alongside Erdogan, Aliyev – World

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attends a trilateral summit in the city of Lachin de Azerbaijan today, while continuing his journey towards friendly countries to appreciate his support for Pakistan during the recent conflict with India.

The prime minister participates in the Trilateral Summit of Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan, along with the presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev.

When heading to the summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz congratulated Aliyev and the Azerbaija nation on his day of the Republic. “The way in which the Azeri nation fought for its liberation, you obtained a high position in the community of nations.”

He also congratulated the Turkish president for “resolving very skillfully the problem” of the PKK, referring to the recent decision of the Kurds to dissolve. “That is explained in volumes, my brother, his diplomatic skills to solve this problem and, by virtue of this, he has gained a place and influence not only in the region, but beyond.”

Remembering the “most fruitful discussions” at the summit of the Shanghai cooperation organization last year in Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Shehbaz said: “Now we are eager to bring our trilateral association to new heights that would be in line with the wishes and desires of our people.”

“This would not be a surprise for anyone like Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Turkiye are united by deep historical, cultural and spiritual ties forged through centuries of shared values ​​and mutual support,” he said.

“This historical relationship has strengthened even more as we have supported ourselves, either in Karabakh, Kashmir or Turkish Cyprus of the North. Our strength lies in our solidarity and mutual respect.”

Observing the “effusion of love and affection in both Turkiye and Azerbaijan” for Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz said: “We could not be hypnotized by the intensity of fervor and enthusiasm of our common citizens during Pakistan’s recent conflict with India.”

He pointed out that India “not only could not bring any credible evidence against Pakistan, but also rejected our sincere and generous offer of a neutral and transparent investigation into the so -called Pahalgam incident by any international organism.”

“The world in which we live faces numerous serious challenges, including armed conflict, climate change, diseases and economic crises. That is why we have gathered here today, opting for compassion while rejecting the conflict. We are sure that patience and wisdom have introduced the beginning of peace and prosperity.

Going first to the summit, President Aliyev said: “The recent tensions between Pakistan and India had worried us more and we saw it very closely with the hope that peace would prevail, and from the first hours we have expressed our solidarity with fraternal Pakistan.

“We would like to see the dialogue and negotiations online with the letter and resolutions of the UN; this is the way to advance this conflict.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Lachin yesterday in the third section of his four -nations tour after visiting Turkiye and Iran. Later he will leave for Tayikistan, where he will attend the International Glacier Conference in Dushanbe.
