NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the Namo Bharat Corridor which extends between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar. The 13-km corridor valued at Rs 4,600 crore is part of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
The runner will connect Sahibabad RRTS Station to New Ashok Nagar RRTS station, including two RRTS stations at Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar.
It will offer commuters a fast and efficient travel option between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South RRTS station, reducing travel time to less than 40 minutes.
Since all the sections of the Delhi-Meerut rapid rail corridor opened so far are in Uttar Pradesh, this will be the first operational RRTS corridor in the national capital.
Passenger services will begin on the Delhi section of Rapid Rail from 5 pm.
The stations that will be operational are New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar (the only underground station in the corridor for now), Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North and Meerut South.
What will be the rate?
He NCR Transportation Corporationwhich operates fast trains, launched the fare module for the two stations in Delhi on Saturday.
“The fare for a one-way trip from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South will be Rs 150 by standard coach. From Anand Vihar to Meerut South, the standard fare by coach will be Rs 130,” an NCRTC official said.
“For premium coach, the fare from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South will be Rs 255 and Rs 195 from Anand Vihar to Meerut South.” Express trains have one premium car (red seats) and five standard cars (blue seats).

Current Namo Bharat Train Operations
Namo Bharat train services operate on a 42 km stretch from Sahibabad to Meerut South, covering nine stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North and Meerut South. With the commissioning of the Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar stretch, the operational length will increase to 54 km with 11 RRTS stations.
The Delhi section has three stations: New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan RRTS station. Work on the rest of the stretch from New Ashok Nagar to Sarai Kale Khan station is in the final stage of construction and track laying activities are in progress. However, the fourth station, Jungpura, which will be developed along with a stabling yard, will be built later.
