A fire chief of the municipality of Pennsylvania was suspended indefinitely after she was accused of dropping her 3 -month -old daughter, fracturing the baby’s skull, according to the department for which she worked and a criminal complaint cited by NBC Philadelphia.
The fire chief of the Municipality of Falls, Brian Salt, 36, was accused on Thursday of three positions in the incident that occurred on March 11, as shown in the judicial records.
“We are aware of the criminal charges that involve the fire chief Brian Salt. As a result, the Salt Chief has been suspended indefinitely pending the result of legal procedures,” said the fire department of the municipality of Falls in a statement on Friday. “During this challenging moment, our thoughts and prayers are with the salt family.”
A criminal complaint with more details was not available online on Sunday, but NBC Philadelphia reported that the complaint alleges that he intentionally dropped the child after the baby would not stop crying.
The complaint says that Salt told the researchers that “he lost control” when his daughter kept crying when he was alone with the baby after his wife went to work, the station reported, citing the complaint.
The baby was taken to a children’s hospital.
A judicial file available online on Sunday did not list a lawyer for Salt. The file said he was in custody in the Bucks County prison after being accused on Thursday.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 2, according to records.
Salt is responsible for endangering the well -being of a child, aggravated assault and simple assault, according to the records
Falls Township is a community of around 34,000 in Bucks County, about 20 miles northeast of Philadelphia.
