The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed a complaint on Monday before the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the referee of the game for yesterday’s Asia Cup game between Pakistan and India for its alleged violations of rules related to the “spirit of the Cricket,” said PCB president Mohsin Naqvi.
“The PCB has filed a complaint with the CPI regarding the violations by the referee of the CPI code of conduct and the MCC laws related to the spirit of the Cricket,” Naqvi published in X, referring to the referee Andy Pycroft.
“The PCB has demanded an immediate elimination of the referee of the Asia Cup match,” he added.
The spinnings led by Kuldeep Yadav helped India beat Pakistan for seven WICKETS in the Asia Cup on Sunday when the neighbors met in the Cricket field for the first time from a military conflict between them in May.
The Indian Captain Suryakumar Yadav remained firm and hit the six winners when the Indian fans celebrated in a stadium, which had many empty seats, and the players of both teams left without handshakes.
After hitting the winning shot, Suryakumar and his teammates refused to shake hands with their Pakistan counterparts. The captain said at the press conference after the party that the measure was aligned “with the BCCI (Control Board for Cricket in India) and the Government.”
In the presentation after the match, Suryakumar said that India took the game against Pakistan as “Jobo other game” and dedicated victory to the Indian army.
“We are with the victims of the families of Pahalgam’s terrorist attack and express our solidarity,” Suryakumar said. “We want to dedicate today’s victory to the Armed Forces.”
The Hostilities of Pakistan-India in May were caused by a April 22 attack against civilians in the pahalgama of Kashmir occupied by India that New Delhi, without evidence, accused Pakistan of support, a position of Islamabad firmly denies.
After the developments, the head of PCB, Naqvi, said today in X: “It is completely disappointing to witness the lack of sportsmanship today. Dragging politics to the game goes against the spirit of sports.
“Hopefully all future victories will be held by all teams with grace.”
Pakistan’s captain, Salman Ali Agha, did not appear in the ceremony after the match as a reaction to the movement of the Indian team.
Pakistan’s coach Mike Hesson explained that the reason why Salman was absent from the ceremony was due to the “disappointing” behavior of the Indian team at the end of the game.
“It was a monitoring effect of the fact that we were obviously eager to get involved and shake hands at the end of the game, but that obviously did not happen,” said HESSON.
Pakistan’s team manager, Naveed Akram Chema, “presented an official protest on the behavior of the party referee,” said the PCB in a statement previously.
India resisted the calls to boycott the game between the nations, with its Cricket board stating that it could not boycott an international event and that such movement “would bring a lot of negativity for all our future efforts to organize any multinational tournament.”
