Patriots trade quarterback Joe Milton to the Cowboys

Dallas – New England patriots agreed to exchange the Dallas Cowboys to the Marshal Marshal.

Milton confirmed the trade through a social media post on Wednesday.

ESPN, who first reported the agreement, said the Cowboys will receive Milton, along with a selection of the seventh round in exchange for a fifth round selection.

The acquisition of Milton, 25, to whom the Patriots recruited in the sixth round in 2024, gives the cowboys a young backup behind the seafarence of the fighter Dak Prescott after Cooper Rush signed with Baltimore in the free agency. Rush started eight games for the cowboys last season, while Prescott was injured.

Milton spent his rookie season in the New England practice team, playing behind the rookie Drake Maye and the support Jacoby Brissett before playing most of the final victory of the Patriots season over Buffalo. Milton was impressive in his single action of the season, running for a touchdown and throwing for another.

His status on the list of the Patriots in the future became less safe after New England signed the Campo Mariscal Josh Dobbs for a two -year free agent agreement last month.
