Edmonton, Alberta-Brad Marchand scored in a double time getaway and defending champion Florida Panthers hit the Edmonton Oilers in game 2 of his final rematch of the Stanley Cup, winning 5-4 on Friday night for even the series.
Marchand’s second goal 8:04 in the second OT allowed Florida to escape with a division after Corey Perry scored to tie with 17.8 seconds in the third period and Stuart Skinner achieved an additional attacker. Each of the first two games in this final has gone extra time, for the first time since 2014 and only the sixth in the history of the NHL.
Like last year and the playoffs to this point, Sergei Bobrovsky was marked when it was necessary more, making some unreal salvations while stopping 42 of the 46 shots he faced. His teammates provided the necessary objective support.

- The Florida Panthers won game 2 in Double OT, 5-4, about the Oilers to link the best 7 7 Friday night series in Edmonton.

Together with Marchand, Sam Bennett scored his 13th postseason leader goal and the NHL 12 record on the road. Seth Jones scored on an open network after a spectacular death of Tic-Tac-Toe, and defender Dmitry Kulikov tied him with a shot through the traffic that Stuart Skinner is almost certain that he did not see.
Kulikov’s goal occurred after Florida controlled the game for several minutes in the second, Hemming Edmonton in her area change after the turn and accumulating an advantage of 34-13 in the shot attempts during the period. The AT de Marchand goal was his tenth career goal in the final to lead all active players.
Game 3 is Monday night while teams cross the continent and play changes at dawn.
The Panthers snatched the advantage of the ice at home away from the oilers dividing the first two, bouncing an extra time loss of game 1 and stating that they will not be silent against Draisaitl and Connor McDavid as if they will do everything in their possession to raise the cup for the first time.
Of course, those stars had their moments. They attended Evan Bouchard’s goal when coach Kris Knoblauch put them on the ice together, and McDavid remained through multiple defenders in the fashion of outstanding racing to establish Draisaitl scoring in the power game.
There were many of them, 10 in total, after officials whistled 14 penalties, including three in the first four minutes. Each team had some calls with which I was not happy, although most of that matched over the game.
