Pakistan’s investments in Malaysia now at $397m, says Malaysian PM after call with PM Shehbaz – Business

Pakistan’s investments in Malaysia have grown to around $ 397 million, Malaysia Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said on Monday, according to The star.

In a Facebook publication after a call with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Malaysia’s prime minister said he welcomed more investments in Pakistan, especially in agriculture, petrochemicals and the biomass industry.

Anwar said he had spoken with Shehbaz on Monday night and both reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen the ties of Malaysia-Pakistan.

“Our friendship continues to deepen, opening new ways for cooperation, particularly after my visit to Pakistan last October,” Anwar said in his Facebook publication.

He also said that Shehbaz will be ready to make his inaugural visit to Malaysia in May of this year and hoped to welcome him on May 9.

“I pray that the blessings of Ramazan and Eidul Fitr provide renewed force to the Malaysia-Pakistan association for the prosperity of our peoples,” said Anwar.

Anwar said that his discussion also touched the crisis in progress in Gaza, noting that the violations of Israel del Alto El Fuego continue to undermine peace efforts.

“We exchange opinions and coordinated efforts to support Gaza’s reconstruction and end violence against the Palestinians,” he said.

PM Shehbaz extends eid greetings to Malasia Premier

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz, during the conversation with his Malaysian counterpart, extended the warm greetings of Eidul Fitr for him and the people of Malaysia, according to the State Application.

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz recalled the visit of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to Pakistan last October and expressed his satisfaction with the bilateral strengthening ties between the two nations.

He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to improve cooperation with Malaysia in several sectors.

While the Prime Minister of Malaysia stressed the importance of the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Kuala Lumpur in May of this year, stating that the preparations were in full swing to guarantee the success of the visit.

He expressed the hope that the visit will consolidate the long data ties between Pakistan and Malaysia even more.

Expressing gratitude, Prime Minister Shehbaz said he was waiting for his visit and anticipated mutually beneficial results for both countries.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Malaysia also transmitted his greetings eid to the head of PML-N, Nawaz Sharif. The two leaders spoke briefly on the phone, exchanging eid wishes and expressing good will to each other

The conversation stressed deep diplomatic relations and friendly ties between Pakistan and Malaysia, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to promote stronger cooperation in the future.
