The absence of Pakistan (PCB) Cricket officials of the final presentation ceremony of Trophy 2025 on Sunday has caused criticisms of former senior players of the country’s game.
India defeated New Zealand in the final in Dubai, with the men of blue playing all their games in the same place after they refused to tour the hosts of Pakistan for the event of eight nations for unpcitified reasons. Lahore was the alternative place for the final if India had lost the qualification for it.
The head of PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, was conspicuous for his absence of the occasion. On the other hand, the Control Board for the president of Crickt in India (BCCI) Binny presented jackets to the Indian players. Even the director of the Sumair Ahmed Syed tournament was not on stage for the presentation ceremony, which causes a complete family issue for the Indian team.
Talking about the subject in the Ten Sports program ‘The DP World Gerness Aroker’Pakistan’s former Cricket captain, Wasim Akram [Pakistan] Were the hosts, right?
“Then the Operations Director or who was representing the president of the PCB, why were they absent from the stage during the ceremony? Were they invited? I definitely seemed strange sitting here too. “
Wasim said that, according to his knowledge, the president of PCB could not attend the final due to being sick and was represented by the PCB COB Sumair Ahmad Syed and the international director of Cricket Usman Wahla.
“A Pakistani should have been on stage, even if they did not deliver the cup or medals, in my opinion,” he added.
Pakistan’s former pakasy [in the final]that there were no PCB representative there [at the presentation ceremony].
“Pakistan were the hosts, and there were no official representative there, this is beyond my understanding. Why did no one come to represent and give the trophy?
“This was the world stage and you should have been there, this [tournament] He was lodged by us, but there was no one there. Think, it has been very discouraging to see that, ”he said.
The president of PCB, NAQVI, in a publication on X, congratulated on Monday the collective efforts of all who made it possible to organize the event in the country.
“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the dedicated PCB team, the APPLICATION AGENCIALS OF THE VICILANT LAW, the Provincial Support Governments, the estimated CPI officials and all the phenomenal participants CRICKET teams who traveled to Pakistan for the Champions 2025 trophy,” he said.
He, however, did not approach the absence of PCB officials of the podium at the final presentation ceremony of the Champions Trophy.
When it was contacted, the PCB declined to comment on the matter, but the reports suggest that the Board will address the issue of Coo Sumoir, not be invited to the stage of the presentation ceremony despite being present in the stadium for the final, with the CPI.
The sport policy hangs on the triumph of India in the Champions Trophy, since India remains the largest financial sport and its control over the International Cricket Council (ICC) is unwavering. As such, the global body had to accept its demands to move away their matches of Pakistan, including the final, if it were to qualify.
After the BJP came to power in 2014, Crick’s relations between Pakistan and India tightened with the latter refusing to send their Cricket teams to the neighboring country while the first played on Indian soil in the global events administered by the CPI, including the ODI 2023 World Cup.
While the BJP government maintained its stubborn position of refusing to send its Cricket players to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy on March 9, February 19, the event became increasingly uncertain. Finally, a bidirectional hybrid model between the PCB and the BCCI according to which both countries will play their games in future CPI events, until 2027, in neutral places.
Interestingly, India, who has not played any bilateral series with Pakistan since the Limited-Overs 2013 series, has faced its archirival in all CPI events in different parts of the Cricket world.
The tangled schedule of the tournament, with teams that enter and leave the EAU of Pakistan, while India has stayed, has been greatly controversial. India’s advantage to play in one place was criticized by Crickt’s fraternity, which included current and previous Cricket players.
South Africa’s hitter, David Miller, said “was not an ideal situation” for his team to fly to Dubai to wait for the opponent of the semifinal of India and then fly back to Lahore in less than 24 hours.
His teammate Van der Dussen had said that the arrangements were undoubtedly advantageous for the Indian team. “If you can stay in one place, stay in a hotel, practice at the same facilities, play in the same stadium, in the same releases every time, it is definitely an advantage,” he had added.
Even the Nominal hosts Pakistan had to jump on a jet and fly to Dubai to play India, instead of facing them in their homeland. The launches have been very different in the two countries. Pakistan’s tracks produced total total, in contrast to the slow and rotating covers of the Dubai stadium.
