The Central Committee of Ruet-Hilal (RHC) announced on Tuesday that the Zilhaj moon has not seen, which means that Pakistan would observe Eidul Azha on June 7.
The committee meeting took place on a roof in the Kohsar block of Islamabad, where the Ministry of Religious Affairs has its position.
Going to a press conference, the president of RHC, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, said: “No testimony was received from seeing the moon of the Zilhaj month from any part of Pakistan […]. Therefore, it was decided with consensus that Zilhaj 1, 1446ah would be on May 29, Thursday and Eidul Azha would be observed on June 7 and Saturday. ”
He pointed out that the climate remained cloudy in most of the country and of course in some.
Maulana Azad presided over the RHC meeting earlier at night, with officials and experts from other departments also gathered to see the moon.
The simultaneous zonal meetings of the RHC also took place at its respective headquarters in the provincial capitals to send testimonies.
Earlier this week, the Space Research Commission and the upper atmosphere (Supparco) predicted that Eidul Azha’s festive occasion would probably be held throughout Pakistan on June 7.
According to Supparco, while the birth of a new moon for Zilhaj 1446 Ah would occur on May 27, the possibility that the moon is seen throughout the country today would be extremely low even in optimal climatic conditions. The clouded climate informed in the Federal Capital has further reduced the probability of sighting.
Celebrated on Zilhaj, Eidul Azha marks the culmination of Haj, one of the five pillars of Islam.
