Pakistan has made a successful training launch of the Abdali weapons system, a surface to surface missile with a range of 450 kilometers, the wing of military media affairs said on Saturday.
“The launch was aimed at guaranteeing the operational preparation of the troops and validating the key technical parameters, including the advanced missile navigation system and the improved maneuverability characteristics,” said public relations between services (ISPR) in a press release.
He pointed out that the launch was part of the “former Indo” and was witnessed by the Commander of the Strategic Forces of the Army (AFSC), senior officials of the Division of Strategic Plans and the AFSC, as well as scientists and engineers of the strategic organizations of Pakistan.
The ISPR also released a successful launch video.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the president of the staff of the staff committee, Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the Heads of Services extended their congratulations to the troops, scientists and participating engineers, the ISPR said.
“They expressed their total confidence in the operational preparation and technical domain of Pakistan’s strategic forces to guarantee the minimum credible deterrence and safeguard national security against any aggression,” the statement added.
The launch of the test is produced in the middle of high tensions between the Pakistan and Indian nuclear powers following the aggressive New Delhi measures following a deadly attack in occupied Kashmir.
The April 22 attack in Pahalgam killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in one of the most mortal assaults since 2000. India has implied cross -border links without evidence, while Pakistan has rejected the claim and has requested a neutral investigation.
Since then, the tensions have shot themselves, with Pakistan reinforcing their forces, since he expected an incursion and the prime minister of India that grants “operational freedom” to his military. Pakistan witnessed bombing through the control line (LOC) in AJK for a week since April 25, and the Pakistan army responded to the unprovoked Indian shots.
The head of the Army personnel (COAS), the general also, said Thursday that any “misfortune” of India would find a “quick, resolved and notch response.” The next day, the maximum brass of the Army also warned India a “safe and decisive” response if trying to impose war.
As temperatures remain high, diplomatic channels have been committed to avoid conflicts, with the United States and the European Union that contacted the main Pakistani and Indian leaders.
In August 2024, Pakistan made a successful training launch of the Shaheen-II surface surface missile.
