• Aurengzeb urges innovative instruments, sector reforms for long -term resilience
• The president of ADB says he is ready to help in the launch of Panda Bond inaugural, he hosts market diversification efforts
Islamabad: Pakistan sought on Wednesday a deeper collaboration and a new support for loans based on policies of the Asian Development Bank for vast sectors of the economy, from climate to infrastructure to the mobilization of resources, through global capital instruments, such as green bonds and debt swaps by nature, under the association of 10 years.
The list of desires for the future direct financial support and collaborations for market -based financing instruments was shared by the Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurengzeb, with the president of ADB, Masato Kanda, a former finance minister of Japan, during his first visit to Pakistan after assuming the position of his office in February this year.
Senator Aurengzeb discussed “Pakistan’s priorities for a deeper collaboration with ADB in key areas, including energy transition, climate resilience, transport and logistics, the development of human capital and the mobilization of resources,” said an official statement.
The minister also welcomed the strong commitment in ADB with Pakistan and fostered greater collaboration in policy -based financing, development of capital markets, private sector participation and innovative instruments, such as green bonds, combined finances and debt exchanges to Nature.
The finance minister emphasized the importance of the ADB association to support the PPP PPP of the Government and the sector reforms to develop long -term resistance. The two parties are currently in the process of association of 10-year countries (2026-35) on the pattern of a similar long-term financing collaboration of $ 20 billion with the World Bank during the 2026-35 period announced in January of this year.

Kanda also welcomed Pakistan’s efforts towards market diversification and promised the preparation of ADB to help in the launch of the Panda inaugural bonus and other innovative financing instruments.
The president of ADB reaffirmed the will of ADB to associate with Pakistan on his reform agenda, emphasizing that ADB would continue to work closely with the Pakistan government to ensure sustained progress and prosperity.
The minister expressed his gratitude to the president of BAD for prioritizing Pakistan and choosing to visit him as the first country after assuming office, remembering his previous meetings with the president in Washington in April of this year.
He also appreciated the ADB country team led by Emma Fan for his constructive commitment and his continuous support extended to the Ministry of Finance and the Pakistan government in the progress of economic reforms and development priorities.
Senator Aurangzeb informed the delegation on Pakistan’s constant economic progress despite multiple challenges in recent years, saying that Pakistan had successfully stabilized his macroeconomic framework, with inflation that decreases sharply, a change in the current account and recent updates in the qualifications of his sovereignty of Pakistan by international credit agencies, which have helped reduce the cost of reducing the cost of reducing the cost loan.
He also recognized the continuous and substantial support of ADB to Pakistan in recent years, pointing out the strong support of the bank for reforms in the mobilization of resources, the financial inclusion of women, the financing of disaster risk and the transition of clean energy.
