Pakistan said on Saturday that India was violating her international human rights obligations for her “deliberate incitement” against Muslims in their own territory.
The statement occurs amid high tensions between the two countries with nuclear weapons following their recent military confrontation, caused by the accusations of New Delhi, without evidence against Islamabad, about a deadly attack in the pahalgama of assholed.
Responding to media consultations, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, said in a statement: “The objective of Muslims through hate discourse, discriminatory actions and the complicity of the State is a great concern for the international community.
“At a time when restriction and reconciliation are more necessary, the deliberate incitement of religious hatred for political or ideological purposes violates the international obligations of human rights and videos of community harmony and regional stability,” he added.
Pakistan expressed “serious concern about the alarming increase in Islamophobic incidents throughout India” and asked his government to “defend the rights and security of all its citizens, regardless of faith.”
Earlier this month, the Association for the Protection of Civil Rights (APCR), based in New Delhi, reported 184 hate crimes aimed at Muslims throughout India between April 27 and May 8.
These affected at least 316 individuals, “physically or otherwise”, pointing out that the real number was probably higher.
The incidents included 84 hate speeches, 64 acts of intimidation, 42 incidents of harassment, 39 assaults, 19 acts of vandalism, 14 threats, seven verbal abuses and three murders.
The APCR also said that 106 of the 184 hate crimes were linked to Pahalgam’s attack. The greatest number of them was recorded in Uttar Pradesh, followed by Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Western Bengal.
“The nature of hate crimes indicates an atmosphere of resonant hostility nationwide and non -local anomalies,” said the civil rights group.
One of those incidents was the vandalism of the Karachi bakery in Hyderabad of India by the right -wing workers of the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party of the Indian Prime Minister.
