Pakistan, Afghanistan, UAE to play T20I tri-series in Sharjah – Sport

Pakistan, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (EAU) will participate in a series of tri-series of the international Twenty20 matches to refine for the Asia Cup next month, followed by the Twenty20 World Cup next year, said the Cricket Board of Pakistan (PCB) on Friday.

“The Tri-Series series will feature teams from Pakistan, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates from August 29 to September 7 at the Sharjah Cricket stadium,” said the PCB in a press release.

The T20I tournament will serve as a “launch platform” for the teams to prepare for the T20 Asia Cup of the Asian Cricket Council, scheduled for the EAU from September 9 to 28, he added.

According to the calendar, the initial party of the Tri-Series tournament will be played between Afghanistan and Pakistan on August 29. Each team will play the other two times, giving all the parties at least four games before the two higher teams qualify for the final, scheduled on September 7.

India and Sri Lanka will be co-analyzes of the Twenty20 World Cup in February-March next year.
