The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) dismissed on Sunday the reports of the “incorrect and deceitful” media about an eight -day closure of Islamabad International Airport, clarifying the exact date and time of the planned closure.
A statement issued by PAA spokesman Saifullah Khan said: “According to the notams issued, due to aerial activities before Independence Day on August 14, arrival and departure flights will be suspended for only two hours in specific days and times.”
From August 6 to 9 and from August 11 to 14, the airport will close from 11 am to 1 PM PST.
On August 9 and 11, the airport will also close from 8 to 10 pm
“In addition to these short interruptions, all flights at the airport will continue as usual,” said the statement, advising passengers to communicate with their airline to obtain the latest information about their schedule.
During the four -day conflict between Pakistan and India, flight interruptions left hundreds of passengers stranded in the country’s main airports, including Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi and Sialkot airports.
The Ministry of Defense informed the National Assembly on Friday that the PAA lost RS4.1 billion from April 24 to June 30 due to closing.
Paa also issued a schedule for the temporary closure of the track at the Allama Iqbal International Airport of Lahore due to bird activity. The closure will be in force daily from 5 am to 8 am, from July 1 to September 15.
