All schools of the public school branch and the Board in French on the island of Prince Eduardo are canceled on Monday due to an frost prognosis.
An frozen rain warning issued by Environment Canada is in force for the three counties with expected frost conditions for approximately four hours. Total frosting amounts could reach up to 5 mm.
The island of the University of Prince Eduardo has delayed the opening until noon, with an additional announcement at 10 in the morning. All Holland College locations are delayed until 10:30 am, with another update scheduled for 9 am
At 6 in the morning, the clip dispatcher in Prince County said the roads in the area are partially covered and muddy.
Meanwhile, there are some frozen patches in Queens County.
Currently, the teams are leaving salt and sand in the counties of Queens and Kings, and the plows have been cleaning the snow. Both counties are preparing to arrive in the ice rain.
CBC’s meteorologist, Tina Simpkin, said the snow will change to the ice granules, then to the icy rain this morning, and the transition to the rain around 11 am, with more rain that is expected later today and tomorrow.
