An owner of Mortuoria de Texas is accused of performing frightening experiments in corpses, cutting “heads, arms and thorns” to prove the impact of embalming fluids, authorities said.
Adeline Ngan-Binh Bui, the 50-year operator of capital mortuary services, was accused of body abuse and manipulation of government records, said Austin’s police.
An investigation began after a reservoir led the accusations to the regulators of the Texas Funeral Commission, showed judicial documents.
The authorities said Bui told researchers about experiments.
“Bui also confirmed that he had ordered his employees to carry out experiments in the bodies to study the effects of the embalming fluid, with and without formaldehyde, which included cutting heads, weapons and thorns of remains sent to their installation while they acted in the capacity BUI.
“It approached up to 15 bodies had been mutilated and subject to experimentation.”
Bui’s lawyer Jessica Huynh urged the public not to reach any hurried conclusion about the woman, who is on bail.
“Our criminal justice system is based on the presumption of innocence and a careful evaluation of evidence, the facts and their sources,” said Huynh in a statement to NBC News.
“This case involves complexities that are not apparent immediately and should not be sensationalist. Our legal team remains completely committed to defending and advocating our client, Adeline Bui, with the expectation of equity and due process.”
