More than 100 people have died since Wednesday after an unusually heavy rain in parts of India and Nepal, authorities said, since the weather department predicted more rain for the region.
The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) warned about multiple climatic risks on Wednesday, with heat wave conditions in the west and thunderstorms in the eastern and central region, although the torrential rain associated with the monsoon usually begins in June.
At least 82 people have died of rain -related incidents in the last two days, said the Disaster Management Department of the Eastern State.
Meanwhile, in the most populous state of Uttar Pradesh in India, the authorities said 18 people had died due to rays and incidents related to storms.
In the neighboring Nepal, the rays and heavy rains killed at least eight people, officials of the National Disaster Authority said.
The India Climate Office expects more rain with thunderstorms, rays and winding winds on central and eastern India until Monday.
The intense heat waves in the summer months of the recent past have killed several people.
The state IMD said last week that India was expected to experience a much hotter April, with normal temperatures above most of the country.
