One of Saskatchewan and Canada’s most wanted criminals was arrested Saturday at Montreal Trudeau airport.
Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron, 36, had been sought by the Saskatoon police since May 2022 as a suspect in a first degree murder after a shooting that took place in a residential neighborhood in Saskatoon. It was also sought by other drug trafficking orders and other crimes related to weapons.
Ouellet-Gendron was arrested by the Police of the Unit of the Sûreté du Québec airport, who was assisted by the Mascor Crime Mascor Research Division and the Canada Border Services Agency. The arrest took place when he returned to Canada.
In 2023, Ouellet-Gendron appeared as the number 10 in the Bolo de Canada program, which functions as the most sought after list in the country.
It is currently in the hands of Sûreté du Québec Force, and it is expected to appear before the Court on August 9 in Montreal.
