Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Iran and the United States will celebrate a sixth round of negotiations on the nuclear program that Tehran’s progress is quickly advanced in Oman, said Thursday, the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate, since regional tensions have increased in recent days.
The announcement of the Foreign Minister of Oman, Badr al-Busidi, occurs when the United States is reducing the presence of employees who are not considered essential for operations in the Middle East and their loved ones due to the potential of regional disturbances.
Meanwhile, there have been warnings that ships could be attacked in regional waters on tensions.
Al-Busidi made the announcement on the social platform X.
“I am pleased to confirm that the sixth round of Iran’s conversations will take place in Muscat this Sunday 15,” he wrote.
Iran had been saying for days that there would be conversations, but Oman, who is serving as a mediator, had not confirmed them so far.
There were no immediate comments from the United States
Reaching an agreement is one of the various diplomatic priorities that US President Donald Trump and his trusted friend and envoy from Middle East Steve Witkoff. An agreement could see the United States lift some of its overwhelming economic sanctions to Iran in exchange for limiting or drastically pretending its enrichment of uranium.
But a failure to reach an agreement could see more tensions in a Middle East on the limit on the Israel-Ahamas War in the Gaza Strip.
