The president of PPP and former Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, said on Friday that Pakistan had no objections to extradite the “individuals of concern” to India as a measure of confidence construction, as long as New Delhi showed the will to cooperate in the process.
The ties between Pakistan and India have remained tense, tense in New Delhi, without presenting evidence, blamed Pakistan for the deadly attack of April in the occupied pahalgama of Kashmir. This led to a four -day military confrontation in May, with both parties to release their weapons after US intervention.
The president of the PPP has repeatedly asked India and Pakistan to participate in a dialogue to establish peace.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Al JazeeraThe head of PPP answered a question about the extradition of the boss of Laskhar-i-Taiba (Sea) Hafiz Saeed and Jaish–Muhammad (Jem) Chief Masood Azhar as possible concessions and gestures in good faith to India.
“As part of an integral dialogue with Pakistan, where terrorism is one of the issues we discuss, I am sure that Pakistan would not oppose any of these things,” Bilawal said.
Pakistan has prohibited Let and Jem so much, while Saeed is currently serving a 33 -year sentence for terror financing and Azhar has been banned by NACTA.
Bilawal added that processed cases against these “individuals” were those related to Pakistan, such as terrorist financing. However, he pointed out that processing them for cross -border terrorism was difficult due to the breach of Delhi.
“India is refusing to meet certain basic elements that require that the conviction take place,” he explained. “It is important … present evidence within these courts, so that people come from India to testify, to withstand any of the counterattacks.
“If India is willing to be a cooperative in that process, I am sure there will be no obstacles in the extradition of any individual of concern.”
‘New Abnormal’
Bilawal also expressed concern about India’s vote to persecute terrorists, calling him an “new abnormal.”
“The new normality or the new abnormal that India would like to impose in the subcontinent … is that any terrorist attack within India means war with Pakistan,” he said. “This does not serve the interests of Pakistan, and it does not serve the interests of India.
“Two nuclear weapons countries have reached the point that they have reduced the threshold for military conflict … at this level, which in effect means that we leave the fate of 1.7 billion people who are not in the hands of the Pakistani or Indian government, but to non -state -state actors,” he added.
Pressing about the whereabouts of Saeed and Azhar, Bilawal declared that the former was imprisoned, while claiming that Islamabad believes that the second is in Afghanistan.
“In fact, it is not correct that Hafiz Saeed is a free man; he is in the custody of the Pakistani state,” he said, stating that Islamabad has not been able to arrest Azhar.
“We believe he is in Afghanistan,” Bilawal said. “If the Indian government shares information that it is on Pakistani soil, we will be more than happy to arrest it.
“But the fact is that the Indian government does not refer to them, nor to any of these people involved in the terrorist attack that justified this war,” continued the head of PPP.
“We went to war in a lie. This is a precedent that has been established and India is trying to exploit: you cry terrorists and attack a sovereign and Muslim country.”
