On New Year’s Day, a terrorist crashed down Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Jack’s older brother, Martin “Tiger” Bech, was one of the 14 people killed in the attack.
“I always believe that God has a greater plan, regardless of whether you see it work or not,” Jack Bech told NBC News on Thursday before the Draft.
“I definitely know that he is in a better place, and that he will be here 100%.”
Growing up, the Bech brothers shared the love for football.
“He scored a touchdown here in the final area,” Jack Bech recalled from the field in St. Thomas More High School.
Tiger Bech would become a prominent in Princeton before starting a race at Wall Street.
Despite the distance, the past fall flew from New York to Texas for each of the games at his little brother’s house, according to Jack Bech.
“It was amazing. Literally I was going to break. I mean, I was indebted to come to all my games,” said Jack Bech.

Weeks after the attack by Bourbon Street, Jack Bech closed his university career with a winning touchdown of the game; He was appointed MVP of Senior Bowl.

His mother, Michelle Bech, said: “Tiger was always known for his courage, and I think Jack has now completely embraced that idea of courage.”

With Jack he is expected to listen to his name called in the second round on the 2 of the Draft, he believes that his older brother will still be there.
“And now he only has the best seat of the house … he always wanted to be with me. So now he gets to be with me, in a different way.”
