A New Hampshire mother shot and killed two of her children and her husband, who, according to the reports, had diagnosed cerebral cancer, before committing suicide, authorities said.
Emily Long’s bodies, 34; Ryan Long, 48; Parker Long, 8, and Ryan Long, 6, were found in the family of Madbury family on Monday.
The authorities believe that in the early hours of the morning, Emily fatally shot her family before committing suicide, said New Hampshire attorney’s office in a press release. The husband died of multiple shots and the two children died of a single shot, according to the launch. Their deaths were declared homicide.
A third boy, a small child, was found in the unharmed house, said a spokesman.
The Office of the Attorney General said that a reason is still being investigated. According to the leader of the New Hampshire union, the husband had been diagnosed with brain cancer.
Emily Long published about the diagnosis in her Tiktok account, which became deprived after the shootings, the newspaper said.
A spokesman for the Attorney General said that several witnesses had informed Ryan Long’s battle, but have not seen any medical record.
“While researchers are becoming aware of several worries/problems in progress in the home at the time of the event in question, people should avoid speculating that this event was caused by a single reason or stressful factor,” the office said in a press release on Wednesday.
Ryan Long was a school psychologist at the Oyster River intermediate school, NBC Boston reported. Superintendent Robert Shaps told the news station in a statement that the district “is disconsolate by the tragic loss of four community members.”
“We extend our deepest sympathies to all the impacted during this incredibly difficult time,” he said.
Emily Long worked for the Wing-IDZ local restaurant chain.
“Our hearts and prayers are with Emily Long’s family during this incredibly challenging moment. We are deeply affected by their loss of loss. Of all of us we send our most sincere condolences,” said the restaurant in a Facebook statement.
