The National Regulatory Authority of Electric Power (NEPRA) on Thursday notified a decrease in RS1.89 in the uniform rate over the next three months.
A notification dated August 7 and available with Dawn.com He said that the authority “decided to allow the application of instantaneous quarterly adjustments in K-Electric consumers also, with the same applicability period.
“Consequently, instant quarterly adjustment of RS1,881/kWh negative (per hour of kilowatt) will also be charged with K-Electric consumers, except the line of life and prepaid consumers, which will recover in a period of three months [from] August 2025 to October 2025.
Nepra declared that this discount will apply to invoices for the applicable period issued before notification, adding that distribution companies (disc) will comply with judicial orders.
Meanwhile, Nepra also notified a negative adjustment of the cost of fuel (FCA) of RS0.78 per unit for consumers of all ex Wapda distribution companies (XWDISCOS), except K-Electric (KE) in their invoices for August.
According to a separate nephera notification, also dated August 7 and available with Dawn.com – The authority decided an FCA of RS0.78 for the month of June 2025 based on variations in fuel charges in the approved xwdiscos rates.
Nepra decided that the FCA “will be applicable to all categories of consumers, except life line consumers, protected consumers, electric vehicle load stations (EVC) and prepaid electricity consumers of all categories that opted for prepaid rate,” reads the notification.
The notification declared that Xwdiscos would reflect the June FCA in the Billing Month of August 2025, which would be shown separately in the invoices of consumers based on the units that are billed in June.
“In the event that an August 2025 bill is issued before notification of this decision, the same can be applied in [the] Posterior month, ”Nepra added.
“While the fuel adjustment, the xwdiscos in question will be maintained in the view and strictly comply with the orders of the courts, despite this order.”

Today’s notifications are produced following a nepera audience that discusses overload complaints and requests from a negative FCA.
The regulator had called to the public hearing at the request of Xwdiscos that seeks a negative quarterly adjustment of RS1.80 per unit to reimburse around RS53.4 billion to consumers from August to October. The reimbursement comes from the savings in capacity payments during the fourth quarter (April-June) of fiscal year 2025.
