The Customs Enforcement Service of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Saturday foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of narcotics worth over Rs 18,000 crore.
The control wing, at a post at X, said that a truck coming from Taftan and heading towards Quetta was intercepted by a team of FEU Noshki. “Upon close inspection, a modified fuel tank was found containing hidden boxes filled with narcotic substances.”
At least 300 kilos of methamphetamine were seized from the vehicle, the police wing said. He added that two people, residents of Hoshab in Kech, were arrested. “FIR has been registered. Further investigation is underway.”
“300 kg of crystal/ice (methamphetamine) and the smuggled vehicle, both valued at approximately Rs 18.67 billion, have been seized.”
Earlier in the week, the Pakistan Navy ship Yarmook seized narcotics worth more than $972 million from sailing ships in the Arabian Sea. The ship is operating in the Arabian Sea as part of the Combined Maritime Force (CMF), a naval partnership that includes the United States.
