Nagpur: A 38 -year -old welder died Saturday due to injuries suffered in the riots on Monday night in Nagpur, becoming the first mortality related to violence due to the demands to eliminate the tomb of Emperor Mogol Aurengzeb of Chhatrapati Sambhajinar.

Irfan Shafiq Ahmed Ansari, who was injured in the crossfire during the Nagpur riots, was found seriously injured and was taken by the senior inspector Sanjay Singh to a hospital. The government covered the medical expenses of Ansari.
Two accused men in the assault of Ansari have been arrested. CM Devendra Fadnavis promised a strict action against protesters and stone shooters, including the recovery of the cost of damage to their property. “We will find the damages and salary compensation to those whose vehicles or properties were damaged. The money will be disbursed in a week, but we will make sure that the protesters are collected,” he said. “If they do not pay, their properties will be seized and will sell to recover losses.”
Fadnavis reviewed the situation of law and order in the affected areas and suggested a connection between Nagpur and Malegaon disturbances, saying that the authorities were investigating the participation of international elements. He said that the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Modi to Nagpur for Gudi Padwa will proceed as planned.
The arrested police alleged Master beer Mentor M Hamid engineer of Fahim Khan, president of the Minorian Democratic Party and the journalist of the Mohd Shahzad web portal. Both were held on Friday night for allegedly inciting the riots and accused of sedition.
Police sources said the engineer has provided clues about the Malegaon link mentioned by Fadnavis. The engineer, a long time in minority politics, had allegedly flooded social networks with inflammatory positions before the disturbances.
His online appeal for contributions to “Mujahideen” raised speculations about his role in violence in Nagpur. The engineer had been arrested in early 2011 for his alleged role in the violence of the Mominpura mafia. Shahzad had distributed a Khan speech that went viral. Both men were sent in police custody for three days.
A Special Committee of the Opposition Congress accused the state government and the Police of conducting a biased investigation, claiming that the groups affiliated with the Government Alliance were receiving “silent support” to incite violence.
The delegation was denied permission on Saturday to visit the areas affected by the riots and warned of legal actions if they challenged the order. “CM says it was a conspiracy. If so, what was his law and order machinery doing? CM must resign, or the governor must dismiss this government,” said Mankrao Thakre of Congress.
