NAB approaches UAE for Malik Riaz extradition – Pakistan

Islamabad: The National Responsibility Office (NAB) has begun the process to extradite the Malik Riaz property tycoon and his son Ali Malik of the EAU, said a source familiar with the matter. Sunrise.

The source said that the United Kingdom Ministry canceled Mr. Riaz’s visa and that his son was taken after reviewing the investigation and agreement of the National Crime Agency (NCA) with Mr. Riaz in 2019, judgments of the Supreme Court in cases of the city of Bahria; The JIT report on the money deposited by Bahria Town in false accounts and a NAB reference presented in April 2019 against Bahria Town.

Earlier this month, the responsibility control agency issued a statement by saying that it has decided to extradite Riaz and warned people not to invest in their company based in EAU, Bahria Town Dubai.

In 2018, Mr. Riaz launched a joint company with the Dhabi Group company based in the EAU to develop a $ 20 billion real estate project in Dubai.

The project, called Bahria Town Dubai, aimed to create a luxurious and modern community with residential, commercial and entertainment options.

The project launch ceremony was recently held in Dubai.

The NAB accused the city of Bahria de Riaz, of occupying illegally public and private land, for its housing projects throughout the country.

It is believed that Riaz resides in Dubai these days to avoid legal actions against him in Pakistan.

Al Qadir Trust ‘Non Functional’

Meanwhile, the PML-N senator, Irfan Siddiqui, has said that Al Qadir Trust does not exist and has not been non-functional since 2020.

In a statement, he said that the University of Al Qadir was recorded in December 2019. Before him, Riaz transferred 458 kanal from land to the university on behalf of Zulfi Bukhari in April of the same year.

The senator said that in July 2020, Mr. Ali transferred 240 kanals of land in Banigala to Farah Gogi, a friend of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan.

He said that the trust remained registered only for eight months, since after the intervention of NAB, the trust registration was canceled and thus remained to date.
