An airborne incident at Halifax Stanfield International Airport caused temporary delays to all flight operations Saturday night.
Halifax Stanfield International Airport spokesperson Tiffany Chase says in a statement that at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, an Air Canada Express flight operated by Pal Airlines arriving from St. John’s, NL, experienced an incident at its arrival.
Flight operations were suspended after the incident while awaiting clearance for airfield operations to continue, and one of the airport’s runways has since resumed regular operations, Chase says.
According to a statement from Air Canada spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick, the plane carrying 73 passengers experienced a “suspected landing gear issue” after its arrival Saturday night and the plane was unable to reach the terminal, and The passengers were taken off by bus.
Fitzpatrick says no one on board was injured, but a spokesperson for the Nova Scotia RCMP, which responded to the incident along with paramedics, says minor injuries were reported.
The cause of the incident is unknown and is pending investigation.
