Myanmar quake death-toll tops 3,000 as junta declares ceasefire

The Ruling Army of Myanmar declared a high temporary fire in the Civil War of the country on Wednesday to facilitate help efforts after an earthquake of 7.7 that has killed more than 3,000 people.

The announcement of the Army High Command was reported on Wednesday night on MRTV state television, which said the truce would extend until April 22 and aimed to show compassion for people affected by Friday’s earthquake.

At the end of Wednesday, the local time, the number of the dead of the tremor had risen above 3,000, CCTV reported from the Chinese state television station, according to Reuters.
