Police said Thursday that they had arrested suspects for allegedly violating a deaf and disabled mental girl in the Punjab Muzaffarh district.
Muzafargarh police spokesman, Wasim Khan Gopang, said Dawn.com that the incident occurred in the Rohilanwali area on August 4.
“Two suspects had been arrested within 24 hours of the incident.”
He said that the 17 -year -old was in the fields when one of the suspects supposedly caught her and raped her. “The suspect fled when the locals arrived at the scene after hearing the girl’s voice,” he added.
In a first information report (FIR) dated August 6, seen by Dawn.comThe victim’s brother said his sister was born deaf and disabled mentally.
He said: “She left the house to relieve himself in the fields on August 4 around 05:30 pm.”
The plaintiff explained that the suspect, who was standing near the field, “forcibly grabbed the victim and raped her under a tree.”
The FIR appointed two passers -by who heard the victim’s voice and caught the suspect violating her. “Seeing men, the suspect escaped. Later, the witnesses persecuted him for a long time, but managed to escape,” he added.
The plaintiff said that he, the victim’s father, and the witnesses went to the father of the suspect, who was also hired in the case as coacked.
“The father of the suspect began to curse me and threaten me due to an earlier fight and an ongoing land dispute,” said the plaintiff, added: “I think the suspect raped the girl with her father’s instructions.”
A case was recorded at the Rohilanwali Police Station under sections 109 (punishment for embedding) and 376 (III) (punishment for the violation of a minor) of the Pakistan Criminal Code.
Despite the presence of laws against violation, with punishment for violation, whether it results in the death penalty or imprisonment between 10 and 25 years, cases continue to prevail in the country.
