Police arrested Kamran Qureshi, the father of Armaghan, the main suspect in the case of Mustafa Amir murder, and recovered drugs and weapons of his possession, according to a statement.
Amir was kidnapped and allegedly killed by his friends in the Karachi Defense Housing Authority (DHA) on January 6. Police said they put their body in the trunk of their car and set him on fire in Hub, Baluchistan.
Last month, the police arrested Armaghan for hurting the officers while resisting arrest. His friend Sheraz, also known as Shavez Bukhari, was sent by an ATC. On Tuesday, the Prosecutor’s Office told an ATC that Armaghan confessed to kill Amir.
According to a declaration of the crime cell against violence (AVCC) and the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Qureshi arrest occurs in the middle of a police repression against drug traffickers ordered by the Inspector General of the CIA Police and Police Superintendent (SSP) Anil Haider.
“Acting on a warning police arrested Qureshi from House No 35, 7th Street, Khayaben-E-Momin, Dha Phase 5, Gizri, Karachi,” according to the statement.
He added that the Police recovered 200 grams of glass methamphetamine (ice) from the possession of Qureshi, along with a 9 mm gun, two magazines and 10 bullets.
There has been a case against him under the control of the law of narcotic substances and the possession of weapons without a license. An investigation is also being carried out, the statement concluded.
