Elon Musk XAI and X companies filed an American antimonopoly demand on Monday against Apple and Openai, claiming that technological giants formed an illegal association to quell competition in artificial intelligence and smartphone markets.
The 61 -page complaint, filed in a federal court in Texas, accuses Apple and OpenAi of entering an exclusive agreement that makes Openai chatgpt the only generative chatbot integrated in the Apple iPhone operating system, while blocking rivals like Xai’s Grok.
“This is a story of two monopolists who unite forces to guarantee their continuous dominance in a world quickly driven by the most powerful technology that humanity has created: artificial intelligence,” says demand.

Apple and Openai announced their association in June 2024, turning Chatgpt as the exclusive accessible assistant through the Siri Voice Assistant of Apple and other iPhone features.
The demand alleges that this agreement provides exclusive access to Chatgpt to “billions of user indications” of hundreds of millions of iPhone users. The complaint also accuses Apple of manipulating the classification of the application store to favor the chatgpt while delays the approval of updates to the Grok application.
Musk companies are looking for billions in damages and a permanent court order to stop the alleged anti -competitive practices. They have demanded a jury trial.
Neither Apple ni OpenAi immediately responded to comments requests.
The demand follows the threats that Musk made earlier this month that triggered a burning exchange with the Operai CEO, Sam Altman.
Altman described Musk’s accusation of classifying the “remarkable” manipulation, accusing that Musk itself “manipulates X to benefit itself and their own companies and damage their competitors and people who do not like.”
Musk called Altman a “liar” in heated exchange.
Both men were original Openai founders before Musk’s departure in 2018 and now have a highly conflictive relationship. Musk founded Xai in 2023 to compete with Openai and other important AI players.
