Murtaza Solangi appointed spokesperson for President Zardari – Pakistan

The senior journalist and former Minister of Information of caregivers Murtaza Solangi has been appointed spokesman for the president of Pakistan, confirmed Wednesday.

Former General Director of Radio Pakistan, Solangi served as Minister of Information and Transmission Caregivers from August 2023 to March 2024.

“Mr. Murtaza Solangi is appointed as spokesman for the president of Pakistan in honorary base/Pro Bono with immediate effect to new orders,” said a notification of the president’s secretary, Muhammad Shakeel Malik.

“Small personal news,” Solangi wrote in X Today. “I have been named a spokesman for Pakistan’s president. I will assume that my new responsibilities starting tomorrow. Thank you.”

During his mandate on Radio Pakistan from 2008 to 2013, Solangi supervised a workforce that covers 64 transmission units and more than 3,000 people. He also forged associations with international news organizations, including Voice of America, China Radio International and Deutsche Welle.

He was the first Pakistani elected as vice president and interim president of the Broadcasting Asia-Pacific Union.

In 2011, the president of Pakistan awarded him the Sitara-E-Imtiaz Award.
