Multan SHO held for torture of elderly man – Pakistan

LAHORE: The new officer of the Finest Station (SHO) station was suspended from the service and arrested for torturing an old man on the road during the security protocol for the National Crick team two days ago.

The incident came to light after a mobile chamber footage went viral on social networks, showing Sho Muhammad Shafiq mistreating an elderly motorcyclist for violating the protocol.

The footage showed the policeman who went down to the motorcyclist along the way and hit him with kicks and fists.

The incident caused outrage in social networks, with users condemning the conduct of the police and the demanding action by the police.

The Regional Police officer of fine (RPO) Sohail Chaudhry realized the incident and ordered the city police officer (CPO) to take strict measures against the Sho.

The finen -responded CPO responded quickly suspending the service sho and closing it to the police line.

Meanwhile, Bahauddin Zakariya police registered a case against Shafiq under sections 352, 341 and 155 c of the Pakistan Criminal Code (PPC) on behalf of the State and arrested the sho.

Rpo Sohail Chaudhry then met the old motorcyclist, Ghulam Akbar, and apologized for the bad behavior of the police officer.

He assured Akbar that his motorcycle would be repaired and that a new mobile phone would be provided when his phone was damaged in the incident.

Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz also realized the torture of the old man’s police officer.

She sought a report from Punjab IGP on the incident, stating that the police had no right to torture people and should give them regarding them.
