The body of the gardener of the Dodgers of Los Angeles de los Ángeles, Mookie Betts, is “simply eating,” he said this week, since a mysterious disease has cost more than 20 pounds and has kept this young 2025 season out of action.
Betts did not play in the two regular season opening victories of Los Angeles in Tokyo last week and could not go to the field for a couple of preseason games at home on Sunday and Monday against Los Angels.
The MVP of the American League 2018 entered spring in 175 pounds and has now dropped to 150, since it has not been able to keep any solid food down.
“I’m afraid to eat, so I really don’t know what to do,” he told reporters.
Blood and vital analyzes have really returned, really clean, “so doctors cannot explain this health scare, Betts said.
“I am practicing all day and my body is eating by itself and, therefore, it is difficult not to feed it,” Betts said. “And so, literally, literally, every time I feed my body, I throw it.”
The 32 -year -old man said he began to feel sick two days before his team went to Japan and that the long trip only exacerbated the situation.
“So I went up to the plane, I thought that at least I would have a couple of days to heal and then the plane trip was brutal,” he said. “That was one of the worst plane walks I’ve had.”
The American team opener is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at home against the Tigers of Detroit. At this point, it is unknown when Betts can play again.
Despite the great weight loss, Betts said he wants to play as soon as he can keep the food low.
“It’s hard not to understand,” he said. “So it seems that I will be light a little. Maybe I have to play uphill a little for the beginning of the season. But you know that I just want to play, man. I’m tired of sitting, tired of simply vomiting, tired of doing all this.”
