It seems that Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s dog helped keep things safe at home when the Dodgers pitcher was on a road trip.
The strong dog barking and a personnel member who lit the lights probably helped to frustrate an attempt on Wednesday morning at the Hollywood Hills house of Dodger Phenom, police told NBC4 investigates. Three people jumped on the rear fence around 5:30 am and broke a rear glass door, but never entered the residence, authorities said.
Nothing was taken from the property.
The staff members were at home at that time and lit the lights. Together with the aggressive barking of the Yamamoto dog, the possible thieves turned into the tail, the police told NBC4 investigators on Thursday. Someone at home called a private security member, who then called the police.
Newschopper4 video showed the dog next to the pool at home later on Wednesday morning. In an interview with Spectrum Sports, Yamamoto said he adopted the dog of an animal shelter.
“Since I was a child, I always loved animals because my mother used to work at the Veterinary Clinic,” Yamamoto said through an interpreter in the interview earlier this year. “Last year, while I was in the IL, my mother visited me in Los Angeles. I wanted to visit the animal shelter, so we went there and fell in love with my dog. So, I adopted it.”
A private security member was in the place in an unmarked car. Authorities try to determine how intruders avoid the officer.
Police told NBC4 investigators that anyone who hires private security should have them in a marked vehicle to provide a visual deterrent element.
There were no arrests, but the sources of application of the law said three people were seen in the video of the security camera. The police, who are watching the video of the security camera, is trying to determine if the crime is connected to one of the many robbery equipment operating in Los Angeles.
