“The answer has impressed us, from restaurants full of lines outside the door to the social buzz without stopping,” said a McDonald’s spokesman.
The snack envelope consists of chicken, lettuce and cheese strips, wrapped in an omelet.
The Wall Street Journal first reported on scarcity. The newspaper added that McDonald’s had told franchisees to save lettuce, asking them not to add the vegetable to the Sandwiches of Mcchicken and offer McNugget customers or a McDouble hamburger.
The engagement wrapping is part of the McDonald’s strategy to sell customers with value offers, while food prices increase. The chain has had problems this year, with quarterly sales in the United States reaching its lowest point from the pandemic.
McDonald’s has faced a particularly low traffic among average income diners, suffering a two -digit drop in traffic between this group during their most recently completed quarter.
At $ 2.99, snack wraps are among the cheapest articles of the McDonald’s menu and are largely cheaper than similar offers of other chains. Although Burger King also offers $ 2.99 chicken wrappings, Popeyes chicken wrappers reach $ 3.99.
