Prime Minister Mark Carney will run at the Ottawa Riding of Nepean in the next federal elections, according to the Liberal Party.
“Ottawa is where Mark Carney raised her family, dedicated her career to the public service and always returned to her community,” he published the party on the social media platform X on Saturday night.
The driving has been held by the liberal deputy Chandra Arya since 2015, but the 62 -year -old knew Thursday that the match had eliminated him as his candidate.
Arya had already been nominated to run again. He had previously run against Carney in the liberal leadership career, where he ruled out the importance of meeting French before revoking his nomination.
The lifelong parliamentarian was revoked by the Liberal Party. He has been deputy of the area since 2015.
Carney has never held an elected office. He became Prime Minister shortly after winning liberal leadership earlier this month.
