A human hunt was thrown after seven teenagers were injured in a shooting in the early hours of Saturday morning, police said in Chicago.

“An unknown vehicle passed and began to shoot the crowd that hit several victims,” ​​while the officers were “trying to disperse a large meeting of people,” in the 6th Southeast district of the city, said the Chicago Police Department in a statement.

Three of the victims were 17, three of them 18 and one 19. All suffered leg injuries, two were beaten in the arm, one on the back and another in the buttocks, according to the statement, and added that they were taken to local hospitals.

All were listed as in “fair condition” apart from one that was beaten in the leg and chest, whose The condition was listed as “serious.”

“The vehicle fled immediately,” said the statement. “No officer were injured.”

He added that no one was in custody and the detectives were “investigating the circumstances involved in the incident.”

In 2024, there were 2,758 victims of shooting in Chicago, according to the City Police Department, a 4.1% decrease in the previous year.
