Matthew Hardy thought he had scared the man who tried to enter his family’s house in Saskatoon on Saturday night.
The man, frantic and covered with leaves and earth, had tried to force himself to the house of the university team through the sliding door on the deck around midnight, Hardy said.
Hardy called the police. Four officers came and registered the patio and the alley for the suspect. Without luck.
Hardy and his wife Karen then tried to relax with a horror comedy movie, Death of a unicorn.
An hour later, his night was really aside.
“We suddenly listen to ‘boom, boom, boom’ out of nowhere and the house is trembling,” said Hardy.
The man had returned, climbed to the railing of the roof, on an elm and then on his roof. He didn’t stay there for a long time.
“Then, suddenly, you can listen to splitting and cracking. And I said: ‘Karen, he is trying to enter the house,” said Hardy.
“Then you could listen to Crunch, how to walk on leaves, plastic covered leaves. It was on our roof, dragging for our isolation, and it could be heard, track it as easy as anything through the house.”
They called the police again. The officers put on the roof and found a hole where a ventilation had been started. A drone dropped into the attic and found the suspect, in a corner excavated under isolation.
Police agreed to the attic through a hatch in a bedroom closet and dragged the suspect.
“Indeed, when he leaves the house, he says ‘Don’t forget my shirt’, which was quite fun,” said Hardy.
They found their shirt, and a sock in the roof gutter.
Police said in a press release that a 33 -year -old Saskatoon man is accused of Break and Enter.
