Man says son was stabbed in the heart at Texas track meet, died in twin’s arms


A high school student was accused of murder after Frisco, Texas, the police said that another student was fatally stabbing during a confrontation at a track meeting on Wednesday morning.

Police said they were called to the Kuykendall Stadium of the Independent School District of Frisco at 10 in the morning after a 17 -year -old boy stabbed a 17 -year -old boy during a confrontation.

Police had previously said that the victim was 16 years old.

“Despite the rescue measures of the police and firefighters, including CPR and blood administration, the 16 -year -old victim died,” police said Wednesday afternoon.

Metcalf said that his son did not know the student who attacked him and that Austin’s twin brother, Hunter, was close when the confrontation took place and not only saw his brother stabbed, but tried to stop the bleeding.

“They were twins, identical twins, and his brother clung to him, trying to stop bleeding, and died in his brother’s arms,” ​​Metcalf said. “I hurried there and I saw him on the stretcher and realized: they said I wasn’t breathing. I could see all the blood, and I saw where the wound was, and I was very worried, so I had to find his brother, and we hurried to the hospital. And we pray, and it is God’s plan, I did not understand it, but they could not save him.

Metcalf said his son had an average of 4.0 grades, it was MVP of the football team and had a brilliant future that included going to university.

“I was on the right path,” Metcalf said. “He was loved by many. He was a leader.”

“I am not trying to judge, but what kind of parents did this child had? What did he taught him? He brought a knife to a track meeting and murdered my son stabbing him in the heart. The guy was in the wrong place and asked him to move and leaned down. This is murder,” Metcalf said.

“You know what, I already forgive this person,” he added. “Already. God deals with things. God will take care of me. God will take care of my family.”

Frisco Police said they arrested and accused a 17 -year -old Metcalf murder. Police said that the suspect’s link has not yet been established and that it is not clear if he has obtained a lawyer to speak in his name.

“The Frisco Police Department grieves with all those affected by this devastating loss and extends its deepest condolences to the family, students and the victim’s staff who experience unimaginable pain,” the department said Wednesday afternoon. “The department is collaborating with the Independent School District of Frisco and will continue to provide any support they need during this incredibly difficult time.”

The police did not say where the stabbing in the stadium took place, but several police officers were seen investigating an area in the stands not far from the track.

A Frisco spokesman ISD said the 11-5A Championship district, which included more than 100 students from eight schools, took place at the stadium on Wednesday morning. The district said that moments after the stabbing, the stadium immediately secured, the meeting was suspended and all the students were returned to their origin “convenience.”

No other injuries were reported.

Frisco police said the investigation is ongoing.
