New Delhi: A shocking incident developed in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district When a man supposedly locked his sick mother at home while traveling with his family to Prayagraj for a sanctification in the Maha Kumbh. The 65 -year -old, identified as Sanju DeviIt was confined in a quarter of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) in the Subhash Nagar neighborhood since Monday. He survived with flattened rice, known as Chura, while his son, Akhilesh Kumar, went to the religious pilgrimage to the Triveni Sangam Together with his wife, children and in -laws. The difficult situation of the woman came to light when she shouted in hunger, which led the neighbors to take action.
According to the police, the woman was rescued on Wednesday after her daughter, Chandni Devi, was alerted by the neighbors about her mother’s condition. Ramgarh’s subdivision police officer (SDPO), Parmeshwar Prasad, confirmed that the old woman had been locked by her son in the CCL neighborhood. Kumar, a CCL employee, had informed the authorities that his mother was not right and had made arrangements for his attention, including food and drink. However, it was clear that these provisions were not being provided.
Chandni Devi, who lives approximately five kilometers away in Kahubera, said he received the alarming news from the neighbors. Police acted quickly, breaking the lock to rescue Sanju Devi. The neighbors immediately offered him food and medicine, and was then admitted to the CCL hospital to receive additional treatment.
Akhilesh Kumar, who worked in CCL for compassionate reasons, had been working as a blade operator in the argada area. The incident has raised concerns about his treatment with his mother, especially taking into account his role in the local workforce.
Meanwhile, the Mahakumbh Mela in progress in Prayagraj continues to attract millions of devotees. On Thursday, Triveni Sangam was full of people who took a dip in the sacred waters. Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the event, emphasizing its importance and condemning the spread of erroneous information about Maha Kumbh. He pointed out that more than 56.25 million devotees had already participated in the event, highlighting their immense cultural and religious importance.
The Minister of Finance of the Union, Nirmala Sitharaman, and the deputy of BJP, Tejasvi Surya, also attended the Mahakumbh, expressing their admiration for the scale of the event. Surya, who participated in the Sagrada Dip with hundreds of workers of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), praised the organization of the event administration, qualifying it as a great sample of unity and faith. The Mahakumbh, now in its last days, has attracted more than 550 million participants and is expected to end on February 26. Many pilgrims are also visiting other sacred sites in the region, including the Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Varanasi and Ayodhya.
